When the Life I Built No Longer Held Me...

Reader,

Without consciously realizing it, Inanna had been walking with me my entire life, through all the trials and tribulations that shaped who I am. The many descents and returns I’ve experienced throughout my life.

While something in her story had always resonated with me it wasn’t until a couple of years ago, as I was approaching my 50th year and my Chiron return, that she came to me in a way that was so direct and profound that I knew my life was about to change in a big way.

At the time, I had finally arrived at the life I had worked so hard to create. From the outside, it probably looked like I had “made it”.

But inside, something was deeply wrong.

I was confused, I was had so much grief, and I saw how much of my life had been shaped around who I thought I was supposed to be.

Eventually, I simply couldn’t hold it all together anymore.

I collapsed.

For a while, there was nothing to fix and nowhere to go. I had to stop trying to figure everything out and simply be with what was happening inside me.

Over that winter, I met parts of myself I had pushed away for years—parts shaped by fear, wounding, and the need to belong. I began to see how much of what I believed I had to be had been shaped by the culture around me.

I stayed with the discomfort. I stayed with the grief. I stayed long enough for something deeper to emerge.

With support, I slowly began welcoming pieces of myself home.

I felt different. I had a new strength and clarity, and I was beginning to trust my own discernment. I could stand more fully in my truth because I understood that, above all, this was what mattered.

And then something unexpected happened: what had once felt confining no longer held the same power over me. I began to see that, in so many ways, I had been the one confining myself.

Not long after that, Inanna came into my life like an arrow with such precision and clarity.

It was in finding a copy of the original translation of her story that her wisdom was directly downloaded to me. I had known the myth before, but reading it at that moment was completely different.

It felt less like discovering an ancient story and more like recognizing something that had been waiting for me. And not just for me but something every needs right now.

I saw my own journey reflected in hers: the descent, the stripping away, the encounter with what had been exiled, and the return with something new. I saw that in this story was the antidote for this separation many experience today.

The deeper I walked with Inanna, the more I understood that perhaps I had been preparing for her teachings my whole life.

She opened a door into the Divine Feminine I had been searching for without knowing exactly what I was looking for.

And once that door opened, there was no going back.

Perhaps you feel something from this story stirring in you too?

Maybe you recognize some part of this journey in your own life.

This is why I created Inanna’s Temple. I wanted to create a space where we can explore this mystical story together and discover what it might reveal in our own lives, learn from this essential wisdom, and allow it to guide you and support you in your life's journey.

The doors to Inanna’s Temple are open for those who feel called to step through. Inanna’s Temple is an immersive weekend devoted to this ancient story, Restoring the Divine Feminine for All Beings, and the journey of descent and return. This is not just for women, it is needed for all and open to all.

With love,
Marie Rose 🌹

Reader, Inanna’s story was buried for thousands of years—but it was not lost. Her story was written over 5,000 years ago, the first story ever recorded. The daughter of the first King of Sumer, Enheduanna, a high priestess of Inanna, the first known author wrote stories and hymns to Inanna. In doing so she preserved a record of feminine wisdom that might otherwise have disappeared. She saw the empires coming and knew this wisdom of the Divine Feminine would be essential to humanity in future...

Reader, The longer I spent with Inanna, the more her story revealed to me. I’ve read it more times than I can count, and each time I find something new. In this journey I’ve become a priestess and devotee of Inanna, but more than anything, I am a woman who has walked her journey. Many times over. I know something about losing the life I thought I was supposed to have, losing parts of myself along the way, and discovering that something more true was waiting underneath it all. Inanna’s story...

Reader, Do you ever feel like you just can't hold it all together any longer? Like the weight of the world is too much to bear alone? The feeling that something essential has been lost within us, and in our relationship with the living world. I see it in my own life, and I see it everywhere. We live in a culture that asks us to keep moving, producing, achieving, and holding everything together. We learn to value doing over being, productivity over presence, certainty over mystery. Somewhere...
